On an uncharted Island, a castaway from the sea,
The barrier islands now beckon to me.
I gather up driftwood along lonely shores
I have a small pile, but I need so much more!
The rocks at the mouth of this enchanted cove,
Block visions of rescue, obstructing this treasure trove.
Clouds hover above and reflect in calm sheen,
Like marshmallows or cotton, or dandelion’s I’ve seen!
Coconut palm trees are bursting with fruit.
I have never liked coconut’s, not even in youth!
But when on deserted island’s you may have to choose,
Between things unpleasant, or your life you might lose!
Debris in the distance has washed up on shore.
I run to discover, a mermaid there and more!
I trip over something and the director yells “Cut!”
“Could you please read your lines, and stay off of your butt!”
The stagehands remove all the scenery fakes,
The enchanted cove leaves, now replaced by a lake.
When time for the IMAX this view won’t be seen,
The brown from the dead grass, will be island green!
OH, BY THE WAY, In truth, I Love Coconut!
