I opened up my heart and soul to you,
I was desperate for you to see.
I felt our love was strong and true
How wrong can a person be?

They always said that love is blind
and now I know it's true
this pain I feel was not foreseen
my curse for loving you.

You tossed me aside
You left my heart broken in two,
Confusion reigns my heart and soul
Will I ever get over you?

If love is so joyous
why does it end?
leaving a whole in my heart
slow to mend.

The pain of the past, hidden by a mask
Tears fall like rain, my heart succombs to pain,
A look into your eyes, has me thinking back in time,
Will love come my way again, or should I just pack it in?

For all the times
love twinkled in my eyes
but from yours
I saw only goodbyes.

Now from the heart
bleeding crimson red
Deep within I knew
No more could be said. [comments] => 6 [counter] => 407 [topic] => 45 [informant] => YPDC_Group_Writes [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => group )

this poem touches me on a personal level. I just realized my final rejection last night after loving someone for the last 7 years.
