A declaration,
A reflection.
A stone sending gentle ripples across the mind
Of the observers of those who remember,
And those who vehemently defend the right
To open that which unleashes
and contains all that is inhumanity!
That gives a reason to take life!

Where people become statistics.
Where numbers are manipulated.
All to give the ultimate excuse
For the ultimate destruction.
And his voice is quiet and reflective as
He has examined his hands and his heart
And looked at the footprints he has left
On the battlefield, and where our words
Would mean nothing, lost in an abyss of
Never having been there.
Then his, echo in endless whispers,
Guaranteed to find their rightful place.

In this world of opinion, the poet has laid
Down his gun.
As he searches for
Meaning and dares to question his duty
He now knows.

Violence breeds Violence!

This is definitely a difficult subject to address, at least in my opinion. I fully understand his plight, however, do we lie down our arms to avoid all violence? I have always been torn with that one. There will always be someone in this world that will attack others' beliefs. If not by war, by force, by some means. But it's the ones that attack by force and violence that ultimately need to be stopped somehow. Violence definitely does breed more violence, but it also breeds defense at the wrong doers and comrads. No answer...just thoughts. As usual, though, I indeed still love your writing.

poop...meant to type also breeds comrads in arms. Don't like the way I originally typed that and thought I'd try to make it more clear.
