But it's time for me to sing a happy tune.
I've found my temporary home,
A place to strike out, almost on my own.
Contentment is near, overwhelming the fear
That had been my companion through the years.
Still, something is missing; my happiness is incomplete.
Without you, this home is just a place to rest my weary feet.

Dear love, dear boy, I know you know
The only reason I decided to go
Was so that you could follow me,
And we could escape, happily.
So please, dear one, don't be left behind--
You are the reason behind all my clever rhymes.
I fear for you, but I haven't lost hope,
Though I fear that too may soon go up in smoke.

Hurry, come with me--
Then we can be truly free. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 128 [topic] => 55 [informant] => ChaosFactor [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => dedicatedpoems )

Nice write, the words flowed smooth, and the emotion stood out. Liked it.

I got the emotion. Thought the 2nd line rhyme was a little off but other than that , a good job.

Did it work?
