I don today
My mask of terror
cast in fired clay?

Perhaps another one of passion
An amorous seductive mask
Painted face and red lips
The art of love, such a task

A mask of sadness
sometimes this one I'll wear
made from torn Paper mache'
and tatty barbie doll hair

The mask of happiness
behold this rare sight
Shiny glass streams shooting
from a soul so bright.

The reddened enraged mask
Stencilled on with hate
It's a painful one to view
and so out of date

Thin veil of a mask
transparent for some to see
the inner trappings of the broken mind
tend to humble and disgrace me

The mask of tragedy
fake faced and twisted in pain
Held in place with safety pins
a bloodied under layer, all that remains

Cold and angered
is the bluish mask of ice
Chipped and chiselled away
by my own device

And then there is the mask
impossible to ever put aside
Hatred and self-loathing
my fault, my guise

Thank you, Ken!! Yes, it's Laura. I think I just might be back again for awhile anyway. :) I went through some very rough and dark days and did a lot of writing. Things have smoothed out and I have kind of lost my muse. I am hoping for some rebirth soon. Much peace!
