My mind left racing faster with the last pound of the gavel.
And my family sat behind me, crying ever so fiercely,
For the life I knew was dimming, life alongside of a shovel.

I did not come off guilty
My story came up clean,
But as I scanned the courthouse
I could tell they would not see.

The man that lie within me
Hiding behind this cloak of darkness,
This man they felt an animal
Contained forever in this harness?

But maybe not, I shall not see,
What will become of us.
The only truth I truly kno,
Is what’s to become of me.

So now i sit here waiting
What seems eternity.
Facing a dispute
Forever fighting inside of me.

I will finally subside
And ask for his forgiveness,
For the life in my own corpse
Will soon come to an abrupt end.

Leaving me only a life, if granted,
Beside his holy hand,
My soul be lifted upward
And there eternally stand.

And there i will be happy
Even with my accelerated end,
Knowing that my earthly body
Forever held a man. [comments] => 1 [counter] => 76 [topic] => 11 [informant] => theo [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => ChristianPoetry )
