Array ( [sid] => 168864 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Struggle of Letting Go [time] => 2011-11-27 11:41:20 [hometext] => This poem talks about me looking back at what I've been through but how I say to myself I wanna let go of my past when in all honesty, I just can't for some reason. [bodytext] => So much time has passed
Went by mad fast
From when I lost my parents at 4
To me doing my last year in high school
School's all I know how to do
Don't got nothin valuable
My life's all I got to lose
But to give up I refuse
That's something I cannot do
My parents wouldn't want me to
And I got dreams to see out to
But things will only get more difficult
Life is like forces of opposition
A push-and-pull
Pushing away the weight and pain
Veins to show that I strain
Pulling any advantage I see in the distance toward my way
Working hard day by day
From sunrise to sunset
Because at any moment
All I'll have is one breath
I'm not ready to die yet
So Imma take my mind off of that
Keep my focus on the future

My friend, the Bible says that Life is but a vapor
like our breath on a mirror, that appears for but
a moment and then vanishes away. I believe that
life on Earth is merely a preparation for what lies
ahead in Eternity! Holding onto grief and pain is
normal. What you need is an abnormal response
to it, and by that I mean a spiritual one, where all
hope lies! Let go, and Let God!
Blessings,
Robert Edgar Burns (Rob)

Attachment one of the biggest issues that we have to face. Life is transitory and progressive and keeps moving whether we like it or not.I love the passion and expressiveness in this coming from someone who I think knows what it is like to fight and survive.Alongside the fight is the lesson of letting go and you have shown how important that is even if it sometimes seems impossible.
