When I first met you
it took you forever to see
truly what you meant to me

three long years
of flirting and hugs
what could I do
to get through to this lug

the light you did see
you really looked at me
and liked what you saw
at last you were in awe

the love you give me makes my heart soar
this i can promise
our life will never be a bore
you have given me things
I never have had before

love and understanding is what you give
I am going to love you
for as long as I live

you deserve only the best
and I know at times
our love will be put to the test

through the good and the bad
whether we are happy or sad
together we will get through
just me and you

the love you give me is grand
and together united
we will stand
