ahead of any eyes that see;
the giving of ones self
to another yet to be.

Comes the day at last,
when from a mother's grace,
a child is born to earth
to strengthen human's race.

And from that moment forward
the two they give and give
to teach their sons and daughters
the proper way to live.

Oft times the temper comes awake;
loud the voice does rise.
Yet, unmasked, they cannot hide
the love that's in their eyes.

And so it goes on through the years
subtly, slowly, bit-by-bit,
ever tending, ever striving
to keep the homefires lit.

Then an angel comes to bid them home.
Satisfied their hearts. They've done their best.
And surprise to loved ones left behind,
in death they give the rest. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 155 [topic] => 21 [informant] => rick2 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

Such blessings to us all, our parents.
I am like you then I assume, an orphan!
Oh to just pick their brains and hearts once
again for advice and love! Great write.
Blessings,
Robert Edgar Burns (Rob)
