Array ( [sid] => 168811 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Ties That Bind [time] => 2011-11-24 16:21:01 [hometext] => There's a beauty in that silver-singing river. There's a beauty in that rainbow in the skies. But none of these and nothing else can touch the beauty in my love's eyes. (BOB DYLAN) [bodytext] => I have looked into your eyes,
the windows to the soul,
and there I've seen the beauty
of a heart that's pure and true.
In the chance I took to look there
I grew sad to find,
The love for me was missing
that I hold in mine for you.

Wisdom warned me not to go
where hurt rules half the land,
but the heart rarely listens
to the voice of reason, sage.
After all it is the heart
that guides us through life's volume
and it seems to me an injustice
to wrongly skip a page.

In having dared to read the page
and understand its grand design,
though the ache of lost love is strong,
too, a friendship has been made.
Had I listened to experience
and set the tome aside,
I'd have cheated you in your heart
and cheated me in mine. Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
