You will be missed
You are so dear to my heart
You were such a great man
You impacted so many peoples lives
And they will all miss you dearly

I'll never forget your kindness
Or your simple, quiet ways
Your strong arms or your navy tattoo
I won't let go of any of our memories

I'll never forget the last time I saw you
Doing everything I could to hold back my tears
You were unable to talk, you could hardly move
But you were aware looking around and listening
I could tell you were happy to see me
I told you I loved you, and you looked at me
And winked
You smiled and I smiled back
Trying not to cry
I hated seeing you in such a state
Because I remember the man you used to be, while I was growing up

They said you quit breathing while watching a football game
A nurse said it was one of the most peaceful passings that she had seen

I hate cancer
It has stolen so much good life
But I'm glad that you have gone and aren't still suffering
Maybe now you don't need your hearing aids and you're healthy as could be
I'd like to think you are happy and with grandma now
So rest in peace, grandpa bob
I'm never going to forget you or grandma
I love you both.
Sincerely,
Your granddaughter, Jessica [comments] => 1 [counter] => 176 [topic] => 52 [informant] => The_unknown [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => goodbyepoetry )

A sweet heartfelt tribute right from the
heart of a precious grandchild. I can see
that Bob passed on his love from one
generation to the next. I hope you can
appreciate the fact that Weeping may
endure for a night, but Joy cometh in
the morning! The morning the Bible
refers to as that blessed hope of reunion
in the air! Find peace in those promises!

Blessings,
Robert Edgar Burns (Rob)
