of a time in the past...in our youth...when desires were foremost
it tells a history all its own...holding dreams that never occurred
a time in the past...a time in the future...a photograph on the desk

it tells tales of youths travels from place to place in time
of lessons learned the hard way...by minds not wanting to admit
at a time when we thought we knew it all...yet we didn't really
a time in the past...a time in the future...a photograph on the desk

a time when worlds collided...parents and children rebelled
when history made decisions we weren't ready for...choices left
wars occurred that took our dreams away left us all alone
a time in the past...a time in the future...a photograph on the desk

we were left confused looking for ourselves...searching for answers
we aged as answers appeared...we finally saw the light in the window
only a lifetime to know the answers and see the truth...only time could give
a time in the past...a time in the future...a photograph on the desk [comments] => 1 [counter] => 143 [topic] => 44 [informant] => maryetta [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Nostalgic )

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
