bay at the moon

midnight's pillow
a backward glance

reciting twisted
snaps of not

for tight crevices
and dead leaves

new November grey
skies and crickets

trapped snow waiting
crawling down to roll

past love to carry
words of everything

pushed off bent
flutters a black shade

flapping till folded
soft dark petal

picked last lost
bruised decaying

don't take
them up

till death settles
December cold. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 102 [topic] => 73 [informant] => ming [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => abstract )

'happy newyear' presents us with a cold picture; it is thus out of which comes the call for warmth and celebration -- so as to give us shield from the endless winter. yet -- with a bit of foresight -- we can see that before long the ice will melt and new chirps will decorate the softened sky. A strikingly original poem. Very. Beautiful. --David
