You want me to write you
A poem today?
Come on over while I
Ponder it some.
I’m not a drinker,
But pour me a sip of rum.
I am so sorry but I
Cannot write today.
Words keep spinning in my head,
But I’d rather rest or play.
Poetry to me, is very very fine,
But my mind won’t let me think
In anything but rhyme.
So I’ll only jot a line or two,
But not until this one is through.
No poems will be flowing through me.
As I need to take a break you see.
I don’t think that I’ve gone too far.
In case you need me I’ll be at the bar.
The salad bar is what I meant.
It’s pretty cheap and I’ve already spent,
All my money decorating my home.
So, the cheapest fun for me to have,
Is to write a poem, man,
That is sad!

Thought: Humor Is A Good Recipe For Boredom.

What?
You want me to write you
A poem today?

I have enjoyed your two latest poems.

I also like a very large green salad myself.

The Haggis Man

There once was a man of the heather,
Who wrote poems in all kind of weather.
He ate salad all day, then tennis he'd play,
And now he's as light as a feather.

Or:

The Muffin Man

There once was a man who made muffins,
He also kept flocks of puffins.
He ate blueberry scones, roast beef with no bones,
And wrote letters to all of his cousins.
