Unloads a sadness
On two people
Who deserve more

This mean season
Knows no kindness
It hurts and it is here
It’s turbulent and long

With wave
After wave
Of sorrow and hate
A butterfly lies dead on a dinner plate
And it can’t return
To the colour shown before
The house has fallen
No walls
No roof
No more.

Shades of grey
Maybe 50 maybe more
And butterfly's tender wings
Can flap and feel no more

No life at all
The mean season takes it all
Nothing says it more
Nothing says it more

Very good write! I really enjoyed this and I love the title. Keep posting and writing. One question who does the butterfly represent if you dont mind me asking.

thanks :) At the risk of sounding melodramatic, the butterfly represents my trust in people, and the poem is about how I find it difficult to place my trust in people. Well, some people. Glad you liked it!
