Walking highways, desolate sideways
Deeply hollows and deadly howls.
I thought of the Scarecrow in the field.
Arms raised seeking the attention through the maze.
Empty flocks and crow cries haze.

I did not ask for this wine in my eyes.
You congregation has filled your message with lies.
Sacrifice for millions only to be left despised.
I walked away the sacrifice not worth the ties.

When I was but a little king, I left the view of royalty behind.
In grace I searched with empty eyes.
I sought the path that was filled with lies.
Looking for truth in these nursery rhymes.
In my fall the throne gave way,
this empty seat I wouldn't portray.
Scraped the bottom, found balance within
Now my crown is stained with sin.
Harvest of souls and food for thought.
Looking for you is all i sought.. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 171 [topic] => 13 [informant] => lostrelic [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )

Interesting here. It's coming off to me as a man who's giving up on all he's known to find someone, possibly a desired love, but I'm curious because you mention the scarecrow, and the dark, dreary landscapes and environments. Interested in the intended story of the poem though, in case it's not as straightforward as I see it.

Good write, my friend. I've missed you.
Keep up the good work.
huggs, blessings,
emy
