You may find the style awkward, but it was intended to be this way. [bodytext] => My eyes are ghosts that cannot die
Their truth cannot be erased
The things they saw, the deeds the witnessed
Are to no ones taste

The darkest horror or the most fleeting scare
Cannot compare to their dark sea
For though some secrets should lie forgotten
And far away should flee

Their simple spark that once lit torch
To hearts all through the land
Now lies in shadows and drenched in wrath
All ordered by my own hand

And though their secrets cannot flee
And nor their wrath set loose
Their life and joy and hope and faith
Are soon to serve the noose

To die is such a honour
For their good has served its cause
To witness all things evil
And try not stop to pause

To wonder how they happened
Or how I could soon stop
The suffering of all man kind
Is not a pretty thought

For it is not their duty
To better things for all
They must contend to be contempt
With how their lives shall fall

To know inside their future
Is one without true hope
But helpless to avoid this fate
Or touch the peace they grope

To know all days that someone will
Be lift with no eyes to fill
With hope or fear or nought that’s warm
And still survive until the dawn

To watch the world but from afar
Too distant to see the sun
Though near enough to hear the screams
When all is said and done

Is horror in life as much as movies
Or more so for it be true
To know that failure is the only option
In every act they do

The toll that takes these watchers
Is more than they can stand
For hearts are not a liberty
Nor the life that they demand

To be human in all sense of truth
Is as hard as it can be
To watch and hope and pray and dream
But never to be free

To cut the boundaries that still exist
Between my world and yours
Is not allowed, it is forbidden
It is uncharted shores

A lot of truth and sadness in this poem. I enjoyed reading it.
