We all want it, we all crave it, we want to be wanted.
Is it not our nature, to yearn for acceptance?
Could this be a reason why the world is the way it is?

We all pretend to be tough, and rugged.
We like to think we are as strong as steel.
When in reality, we ache to be needed.

We all want to be wanted.
To be held, loved, and trusted.
We try and impress the masses, with all these useless things.

Cars, money, clothes, all this is a cry for adoration.
It's all an expression of the desire for attention.
A constant battle for recognition.

It's never enough.
The ache is still alive.
The need for the love of many.
At the end of the day, what are you to do?

Even if you get it, will it be enough?
Can the desire be quenched?

In all my years, I have found but one solution.
I assure you it isn't what you think.
He will give you attention, that fleeting recognition.
He won't leave you alone.

Unconditional love, an ally to the end, you could say he is mans best friend.
God knew what he was doing, when he gave man this companion.
Just be sure to give him plenty of food and water.
Also, at the end of the day, throw him a bone.

He will assuredly return the favor ten fold, with many licks, tricks, tail wags and friendship! How true this is, what could be less demanding and more loyal than a 4 legged furry friend ?
Wasn't evident to me where this was going right until the end, which I enjoyed.
Great work.

Steve
