“Magnolias are out again my dear,
Come, come with me and see the glorious bloom,
Lets take a ride again to see the cheer
Of burgeoning blossoms,- leave the chilly room!"

But being hard of hearing, - imbalance
Upon a bicycle my darling feared,
And so he did refuse to take the chance
To ride and missed and burgeoning multi-tiered.

Last spring a darkly premonition struck,-
It might be the last time for both of us,
To take the bikes out off the awkward rack,
And kick its pedals ‘long a flower-rimmed path.

T‘is spring again and the magnolias bloom,
But Lo! the glory is for me alone,
And coming home so empty is the room
My precious spouse, my Stephie-boy is gone.

Springs radiant beauty is again around,
Sweet blossoms sprout on every bush and tree,
I am alone, yet hear his voice resound
For my dear Stephie-boy now lives in me

This passing bloom, I see, - my yearly joy!
But soon magnolia leaves fall into sod
My life's companion, my Stephie-boy
Sees endless bloom and blossoming in God.

I was brought to this poem by LOWMAN613's forum post under poems worth reading. I think she always has good insight and a great eye for whats great and not just what's good. She was right about this poem. I can completely relate to this poem in ways I can't even begin to talk about. This is a wonderful creation and expression not only to your husband, (God rest his soul), but to those of us who can relate. You've touched my heart with this, and I thank you for sharing such intimate emotions.
