Oblivious. Surely not the case but I would swear that she is.
The crowd like pack animals surround her;
Feeding off every word or glance in their direction.
A single word cast at them would be devoured like the richest food;
An almost palpable tremor coursing through their bodies.
Excitement. Avarice. Feral desire.
The animals are puppets dancing to the tune of her voice.

She stands statuesque, skin as ivory
But a presence as though she was crafted from marble.
Smooth yet impervious. She is sublime.
Drifting, nay floating for she moves so gracefully,
Her exit prompts a tangible disappointment.
I close my eyes, inhale deeply, olfactory senses heightened, I smell her.
A footprint in the air fills the vacuum of her absence.

Such a prize is not for mortal man.
Her diet is that of Coleridge’s honeydew for she is immortal;
A Goddess sent to Earth to entrap the souls of ordinary men.
She is no reward or prize for she is the huntress.
I smile in recognition of the fact and shake my head.
Already the pack is searching, preening, vying for superiority.
They stand no chance against her power and I feel pity for them.

A succubus in waking form, I feel honoured to have witnessed her.
I feel no shame in the desire I feel;
Overwhelming. Intoxicating. The need for more.
The pack has moved off with the alpha male in the lead.
Like a lamb to the slaughter he approaches her position.
He does not realise that he is the hunted, the victim, and the target.
Her power is so subtle it is almost imperceptible but I know, am certain.

Today someone will lose their soul and become a slave to the Goddess.
