Array ( [sid] => 167403 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => AFTERMATH [time] => 2011-09-18 13:47:34 [hometext] => This is the first poem I have ever written. It is a direct result of an old flame extinguishing a new one. [bodytext] => what once was precious as a bit of gold
is now no longer mine to hold
i tried so hard to squeeze and squeeze
yet all fell through my hands with ease

it started with a few bright smiles
hopes of more grew all the while
an unreachable goal, high above
was in my arms, mine to love

still waters ran deep, with darkened depths
all but one mystery brough to the steps
what i thought was long and dead
came barreling up, reared an ugly head

a friend so dear, a lover so close
are the ones who suffer, and hurt the most
one hit hard with a hidden sin
one strung along on a promise so thin

and now i fear that all is lost
can i get it back, and at what cost?
bound and determined, i will give it the ol' try
no matter the outcome, like a pheonix i will fly [comments] => 3 [counter] => 103 [topic] => 48 [informant] => noaka [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )
