FIREMAN

We live on the 21st floor of our building.

Every couple of days I see a man

Walking up and down the steps —

Up and down — up and down.

I asked him why.

He said, "I'm a fireman."

We live on the 21st floor of our building.

One day last week I decided to try

Walking up and down the steps —

Up and down — as he does.

I guess I'm a fireman.

There are other kinds of fires.

Very intriguing through it's simplicity complemented by an ending of complexity. "there are other kinds of fires" what a lovely conclusion! God bless you in Jesus' name,
Deidra

feel the burn...

a little quirky in its real life observations - I like it.

I had to walk down 23 flights recently at work on a fire drill and my thighs ached for a week after.

This poem made me smile. Simple yet deep.
