Worried over another day that made him mad?
Did you ever see one wearing a fearsome frown
As if he had problems that were weighing him down?
No, of course not, sparrows always look so well,
Although they lead a simple life, they enjoy it, you can tell.
He’s content with the basics: a shelter overhead;
A drink of water and a small piece of bread.
A dust-bath to keep his feathers looking neat;
A simple nest in a tree to make his life complete.

Did you ever see a sparrow look at us as if wondering why
We worry so much about life, and often sigh and cry?
Perhaps he’s thinking he’s glad he isn’t like us
Who complain about life, and are often seen to fuss.
We carry on such busy lives that it seems there’s no time to spare
For us to take a rest and enjoy the fresh country air.
Wrapped up in anxieties about what money didn’t buy
We often forget to smile, and thank Him up on high.
But, the little sparrow wakes us with his song each morn,
He daily thanks his Maker that he has been born.

I've seen a sparrow trying to flap it's way out of my cat's mouth. Looked and sounded pretty anxious at the time.
Other than that, a good message that I should listen to.

Dear respected windowguy,

Your poetry is indeed extraordinary
I must also add the term "exemplary"

Your poetry contains a Universal truth
The inner meaning is really mammoth

After reading quickly your poetic write
From my head vanished every weight

Even head-weight is surely removed
My poetry must be wisely improved

What a great revelation using a sparrow!
What a great admonition to lead tomorrow!

A great poem which educates mind
Gist of wisdom in it I joyfully find

But nowadays sparrows have vanished
They are by modernity at last vanquished.

With best wishes, Thanking you, Yours truly,

mvvenkataraman
