while others drift between our subconscious?
Do you really take it personal when someone with a fowl mouth barks your way.
Can't you see that they are nothing inside but rot?

Calling me something derogatory has no effect.
I laugh at your petty ways to bring out my emotion.
You want to see my anger mention words like famine, inequality, starvation.
These are words that are slated between my soul and grief.
Since I do not live by your standards does not make mine any worse.
I am not you.

You want to lead me, then do it by example.
Show me countries in need of simple human rights,
not from your flat screen but from your heart.
Hand out peace and love, not judgement and fear.
Give my brothers and sisters the respect they deserve.
Let us all have respect, it is something that isn't offered any more.
Until that day I will stand beside my family.
And join in the multitude of voices raised for humanity.
For together we are strong.
Separated we fall even further from our will.

The first quatrain has a strong message for the reader, and is effective in engaging the reader in the poem. The next stanza effectively provides a link between the two main issues of the poem.
Keep writing
Peace
Ammar

I agree completely! Judgement is not required of us- that is God's job. We are to-as you've mentioned- be examples to the oppressed and cold world. Take care and thank you for a wonderful write,
Deidra
