I just don't get it.

Trained for a world
that no longer exists
whatever it is
I just don't get it.

I read the eyes of the selected ones,
those presented in rectangular light.
They get it, you get them.
They are awarded
for they connect with you
or the person you think you are
and deep down
you forgive yourself
because you get it.
At least that is what you are told.

Meanwhile
time takes a little bit away
each and every single day

until the world you know..
The world you get.
Doesn't get it any more.

to take what you have
whatever it is
I just don't get it.

Trained for a world

The feeling and grief of being misunderstood and *not got* is terrifying and saddening, really nice poem, summed up a lot of my feelings with the way i read it x

A masterful conveyence of a message most won't get
and that many are oblivious to
while others just prefer that ever popular bliss as opposed to.
A profound piece to say the least
keenly witted and flawlessly executed
