I sold my boomrocksoul
to sex and drugs and rockn'roll;
and my craftman's spark
to strange careers,
rolling over wasted years

the one allied with lovers, all
was cast adrift on heartache's yawl;
a leaking ship of lovestruck pleas
to wander what-ifs seven seas

my warrior soul was long unmade,
quested out on fool's crusades
while reservoirs of power and light
were squandered holding back the night

but memory's soul has stuck within
through ups and downs and thick and thin;
though things can never be the same,
I try to live with what remains.

I don't think I've ever read a poem of yours that hasn't made me sit up and think about the world.
This one is no exception!!
I'm glad you keep showing the world your great gift.

Hi Spike,

7 souls, 9 lives, and several re-inventions - what a wonderful tapestry we weave.

Well scribed, my friend - and so crisp in its delivery.

With only thirteen moves of life 'n' death in the Tao, seven souls seek answers and meaning to life with irrational questions attached to the modernity of stupid. Or the stupid of modernity. Wonderful write, a keeper.
