now everything i once had is so far away
and it hurts pondering the question "where did it all go?"
i try not to think about it but in my heart i know i really should have stayed.
insignificant and small, wallowing in my own self pity.
wasting away in this lonely city.
they say when one door closes another door opens
but all of them have just seemed to slam shut
my wound reopens
as those last words repeat in my mind
now i sit here with heart ache and regret...
how was i so blind?
i know its bad to cope the way i am
i am at a loss of words as my emotions flood to the surface.
losing my train of thought all i know now is its 1:30 a.m.
as time passes me by the only words i can utter

'1:30 a.m.' is spectacular. I loved reading it -- and it stays in me. Mine was the opposite story -- home was not home. Regardless, you can thank G-d that you still DO have a home -- even if it isn't in the moment you wrote the poem. A Home is rare. Don't. Just. Miss. It.... Go. There. -- After all, you have quite nostalgically and so successfully shown us where it is... Thanks.
