Array ( [sid] => 166521 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Echoes of Voices [time] => 2011-06-11 13:20:01 [hometext] => It is apparent to me that we often listen to old tapes about our lives throughout our lives and what we formerly were or knew. [bodytext] => I can’t do anything right.
Everything seems to be going wrong.
I’m the kiss of death.
When are they calling?
When will it happen?
Why me?
You’ll never amount to anything.
I can’t do it.
They’re better than me.
Just a nobody.
I’m scared.
Hope I get this job.
Too many people with better qualifications.
Not very good looking.
Too fat.
A real loser.
Dumb.
Slow.
Was born into the wrong family.
Never happy.

Let you inner ear filter, receive only the pure goodness,
The real you.
Wear the earplugs of truth.
Block out the deafening sounds of self-defeat.
Let the refreshing waterfall rush into your ear
To wash out, dissolve the clogging barriers of lies.
Flow, swim in the pool of freedom.
Hear the real you.
Acceptance.
Loving you.

do we think in sound? I know I think in sound (without the sound). Not quite a voice but still there. I wonder how people who are profoundly deaf think. Do they think in word?. You got me thinking about this because you associate inner thought with sound, as if you can block it out. I'm confused.

i like this for its intent, pivotal line for me is...wear the earplugs of truth, drowning out the negative voices to be replaced by self acceptance and love.Something we need reminding of daily as it is often us that allow negativity in and we have far more control than we ever imagine as to the way we feel. Thanks for the reminder and for the inspiration
