We need to think a little more about what we do. My first post here in a little while, wish I could make more time to write!! [bodytext] => Greed is the fuel that burns forever, when nature's own is gone
Dark days of repentance too far from the horizon to be seen
The harvest we now reap, farmers of arrogance
Will only clothe the future in filthy, tattered rags

We are all creators, we have fashioned a destruction
Not for us a wilderness, but those who follow on
Our nettles grown in place of roses, planted in the ash
Eden is a market garden of profit,disease and dust

Beckoned by the coin, the seed of sense is left to die
No longer ground to germinate, among the desert sand
Bureaucrats spin the barrel, the world is Russian Roulette
Father forgive them, for they know not what they did.

We give a gift to the future, labelled from the past
An empty box with a note that reads "We welcome you to Hell"
On a dimming fire they will let it burn, huddle round the flame
The light fades down for the final time, everything is gone, [comments] => 5 [counter] => 252 [topic] => 48 [informant] => puppy_dog_eyes [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

Powerful beginning line,great expressive lines throughout, Eden is a market garden,anger and frustration vented whilst hope like the fire dimming is fading into the desperate legacy of what we are leaving for future generations,strong message for which we can only hope someone will listen.

First of all thank you for your comments on my poem Otter. Can't seem to be able to message you directly, but a big thanks. This work of yours is fantastic. A great read with a strong message that the world would be wise to take heed of. You are very expressive and the passion you have comes shining brightly through. Well done.
Dennis.
