Array ( [sid] => 166507 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Benediction [time] => 2011-06-09 07:51:58 [hometext] => Elderly uncle, aged 91years and 11months, passed away 2 weeks ago after years of illness. He had longed to do so for much of that time. In the end, peaceful and dignified. [bodytext] => * * * * *

He rises on the requiem of a breath
beyond the fading colours of our shade,
and bows approving of that mortal death
to walk resplendent, bold, and unafraid.

The scorpions of worldly pain and grief
are dulled and tamed across the transcendental.
For him the prize - a ring of laurel leaf
that Paradise bestows upon the gentle.

And we who mourn the transience of his core
evoke the quiet echoes from a time
exalted by the mantle that he wore
with piety and dignity - sublime.

I will continue to make a complete fool of myself in the praise that I give you as a writer for which I am unashamed, the depth breadth sensitivity and humility with which you write holds my breath until it can breathe again with your next piece of gold. A beautiful tribute is not enough to describe this it is that and the echo of a wonderful close relationship that was held in high regard and is sorely missed x

Hi Tommy
I echo Anna word for word. You post on here so rarely now but when I see your name I know we are in for a poetic treat. This exceeds all expectations on many fronts, strong, sensitive and full of personal inner thoughts. I salute your genius sir!

When an opening line grabs your attention so well you usually suspect that you are going to be drawn into something captivating.
I'm glad my suspicions were proven.
Great write

Steve

I am sorry for the loss of your uncle. I know he would be proud, I know he hears you read this verse. This is beautiful. It moved and touched me deeply.

So sorry for your loss. Sometimes we rather give them up than to see them suffer.
Great writing , friend.
Blessings, inner peace,
emy

Sorry For your loss, Tommy.

Actually I haven't given a yell out of your name lately...

(((((((((( Tommy ))))))))))

Awesome writing and I am sure he would love it. Glad to hear his suffering is over. Sadly, some times it takes too long but I'm sure he's having a great time in the next life.

Take care,

Tim
