thoughts of giving up on life,,
tries to feed his family,,
the best way he can,,
but feels that he's failed,,,

another step he takes,,
a child he see's in a distance,,
the old man ask's him,,
why are you out in the darkest nights,,
the child say's,,
my dad is trying to feed us,,
and he feel's bad,,

the old man asked him why,,
the child say's he works the best that he can,,
and we Love him,,
but he say's it's not enough to feed us,,
the old man knows how he feels,,
he feels the same,,

the child tells the old man,,
if he left,,they would have enough to eat,,
the old man tell's him,,
that he is wrong,,they do need him,,
he's there life,,there child,,

the child asked him,,
do you have a family?,,
the old man said yes,,
he thought for a minute,,
they need me also,,
the child turned around,, and said,,
they do need us,,

with a tear in the old mans eye's,,
the old man said thank -you my child,,
you taught a old man a very important lesson,,
the child said,,thats what were here for,,
you as me,,and me as you,,the old man was puzzled,,the child said without him,,
the old man would never be,,
for the child was the old man,,

times get hard in life,,
but the child in us,, tell us,,
we can survive,,we will learn,,
life is to precious,,
even as an old man,,
cherish the memories,,
