This much I have written
Smell of my blood is in the air
And it is everywhere
She is beautiful
Her bite is intoxicating
It feels wonderful
The pain is not killing
Resisting would be pitiful

I have been bitten
This much I have written
A moment like this is forever
Forgetting about it is a never
She is a rose
Her touch is paralyzing
It feels as if I froze
I am realizing
It's me who she chose

I have been bitten
This much I have written
I love her
I am sure
She is my hybrid
Her fangs inside of my neck
Ground is crimson red
Her tongue licking my blood, not leaving a speck
I feel alive, not dead

I have been bitten
This much I have written
Her arms tightening around me
It feels so amazing, I won't flee
She is awesome
My hands holding hers
I'm glad this moment has come
It is not a curse
I don't want to go back to where I came from

I have been bitten

Only a "small hint of darkness?" Hmm...it's hits me like a sledgehammer! Good read.

This is not only a very special love poem -- yes, you are right -- it has a dark side -- but that darkness provides the very tension the poem demands -- and you put that tension in the right place.

I am particularly impressed by your use of repetition:

I have been bitten
This much I have written

and that the poem ends with that expressive couplet.

Quite why so many have read it, yet failed to SAY anything to you, beats the ***** outa me!

Alas.

This is Here.

Thanks for your gift to all of us -- all: explorers.
