Cinderella scrubs the ground.
Charming realized before too late,
and so, chose not to abdicate.
For Cinderella fit the shoe,
but her blood was not quite blue.
The prince was told to choose his fate
so took a princess for a date.
No longer darling of the ball
(fairy godmother on the dole).
The pumpkin it was turned to soup
which looked revolting, orange gloop.
It scorched the big bad wolfs rear end,
just wanted to be piggies friend,
but they did not appreciate
his desperate act to be their mate.
They had seen a premonition
of huffing puffing demolition,
the door unanswered, down he went,
bumping as the chimney bent.
Until he felt the pumpkin splash
the heat it forced him on a dash.
Exiting quickly, out he screeched
to grannies cottage by the beach,
where a whale spewed out a boy
little more than a wooden toy.
Surprisingly no-one was struck
by Pinnochio's chiseled looks
so lonely then, he hobbled home
shivering splinters to the bone.
Meanwhile, the other side of town
a beauty that was feeling down.
Rapunzel, she was rather greedy
as her roots were very needy.
Rumpelstiltskin saw her there
he promised he could turn her hair
to threads of gold which they would sell.
Gold spun, the price of bullion fell.
Rumpelstiltskin tried to fleece her.
Exhausted, she got alopecia.
He rubbed on potion to regain,
but slowly the quality did wane.
Eventually, sick as a parrot.
Product? barely half a carrot.
No profits meant he set her loose,
investing in a golden goose,
which he bought with beans in a sack
from a stupid boy called Jack,
Who ran whistling back up the hill.
Revenge was on his mind for Jill.
She tripped and fell upon the pail.
I swear that she'd been drinking ale.
Her loud singing was hard to take
and sleeping beauty, she did wake.
The frog jumped off, he'd missed the boat.
Singing, Jill missed all the notes.
Her voice recorded by the state
to flush out trolls and such, in wait.
The mirror cracked so fair was lost.
the Witch returned with grand riposte-
for snow white, she just got too old
sat on the shelf with jars of mould.
Her companions did not fair better,
or so I read in their last letter.
Dwarve's mining future was uncertain
so they were trained in painting skirting,
a job requiring little height.
Now out of work and out of sight.

I know that I have truly failed
to faithfully re-tell the tales,
for everything I touch is tainted.
Brushstrokes on carpet where I painted.
In this life, things, they do go wrong
but fairyland's still going strong.
If only I could turn the page
to the happy ever after stage.
