Does a lot of the dirty work from cutting trees to bulding bookshelves.
Was always there for me when he was coaching little league
To helping me with the car,
When I was little I would follow him,
Like the indians followed the north star.
I told myself, someday I want to be like him
The only thing he and I have different is I stayed slim.
I remember all the little things from throwning ball in the backyeard,
To learning how to ride a bike.
To the day I got out of jail, put his arm around me,
Said "there's nothing about you I dont like".
I'm 6'3 and he's 5'10
But I still look up to him more than anything.
Never missed a game of mine, always put in the effort
That thing we built together, ended up being a cool fort.
Rando piggyback rides, yes they still happen
We always talk baseball and who should come out of the bullpen.
I may be 24 and may sound sentimental
I don't care, people are only being judgemental.
My dad is the man, there's nothing I wont do
I'll end with a quote " Dad, I love you" [comments] => 1 [counter] => 340 [topic] => 23 [informant] => Florida [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => FamilyPoems )

He sounds like a good guy.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
