It's something that'll be in my head forever.
Kissed her, told her I loved her
I love you too, I'll call you later.
Went on with the day, dinner with mom, horseshoes with dad
Threw a ringer, dad laughed and said "not bad".
Beautiful sunny day, pools open
Mom just got home from shopppin'.
Hours of fun and laughter go by
Figured I'd call her just to say "hi".
No ring, no answer, phone must be off
Everything must be fine, we had a good sendoff.
Boy was I wrong after hours of calling
All the no-answers and voicemails became irritating.
Gave her the benefit of the doubt, but for only so long
Until a strange, a not so good feeling came along.
Drove to check on her, see if everything is ok
I was not expecting to see what I saw, not in any way.
In the driveway, her can and another
Really hoping that it's her brother.
Head inside, go upstairs, see someone with a darker tan
The girl I once knew, is with another man.
Got out quick, drove home fast
Made it home in about a minute, shaking and out of breath
Felt like I just witnessed a violent death.
I just left, no questions asked.
Two hours later, I was arrested
All confused I ask why.
Breaking and entering, all we ask is that you comply.
Stayed the night in jail, saying nothing but profanity
Probably could have been released with a plea of insanity.
Very next morning, sat infront of a judge
My lawyer stood confident, didn't even budge.
Looking at 3 years for a (BEEP) who lied
After a lecture from Your Honor, I nearly cried.
Just before the hammer slammed, I heard good news
Walked out of the courtroom with only a bruise.
My mother and Gram huggged me telling me everything is fine
Lets just say, that night, I had a bit more to drink than just wine.
All i landed was a small violation
Monthly fine and two years probation.
Felony record till May 13th, 2011
Expunged upon completion.
