Creating a future for my relatives
Creating a body of work worthy of recognition by academics
To be taught at schools
To be made into plays
That will be my parting legacy

I bequeath all my works to my surviving relatives to use creatively
Remix, reconstruct, deconstruct
All profits to be spent on having fun
Legacy creation brought me joy
Only fit you get some back

I may be jumping the gun a bit
Thinking I’m going to be famous in the future
But when you’re gone you can only hope
Hope that joy can come from your work, whilst you lived
You should believe in you, I do
You will be recognised
You will be beatified
You will leave a body of work worthy of a legacy
So create, create, and create

Legacy

Creating a future for my relatives
Creating a body of work worthy of recognition by academics
To be taught at schools

I wish more of us would feel the things you have expressed in this poem.
