Array ( [sid] => 165592 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Fighter [time] => 2011-03-31 17:20:26 [hometext] => [bodytext] => I am a fighter; and I’ll never break,
I’m not giving in and I’m staying awake.
Though I can’t see it now there’s a light, at the end
Of every tunnel, ‘round every bend.

My smile’s not real, my laughter is fake,
But I’ll never give up because that’s what it takes.
I’ve weathered a lot, but I’ll weather more still,
Right now things are tough but I’ll make it, I will.

When I see you smiling it hurts me inside,
But all of those feelings I’ve since learned to hide.
So I smile right back, and pretend not to care,
Knowing all of us have our own burdens to bear.

There are chinks in my armor, and cracks in my wall,
But I hide them away and stand straight, proud, and tall.
I know I’m not the first, nor am I the last,
To retain all the scars from the hurts in my past.

I once heard it said it’s these very same scars,
From the pain and the hurt that make us who we are.
And someday I’ll discover the beauty from pain,
There is always a lesson, however insane.

Many things in this life are obscure and unknown,
And at times everyone feels unloved or alone.
Too tired to sleep and too broken to cry,
So instead I’ll do neither, I’ll hold my head high.

I am a fighter, and I’ll never break,
Even though I think I’ve had all that I can take.
At every ending there’s also a chance to begin,
So I’ll hope and I’ll wait and I’ll fight and I’ll win.
