Array ( [sid] => 16556 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Here's To You, My Love [time] => 2003-04-26 17:05:00 [hometext] => This poem is written from the perspective of a girl who was mistreated by her boyfriend but she never took the time to notice. She's so heartbroken that she goes to his house and tells him exactly how she feels. [bodytext] => Please, my darling,
Answer your window's tapping.
For the first time this week
I wasn't drunk with lies.
I'm sure you love to see me wasted,
Passed out in the lightless corner.
Wearing my tears on my sleeve
Like badges of honor.
What did I do,
To deserve such gifts from you?

You bred my blood to run for you.
In rushes of pain,
Parading your name.

My thoughts are drowning in you.
A sea of unknowing,
Which had blinded me
With my own master plan:
'Never Give All Yourself,
You'll only get hurt'
Now I'm going to beg you-
Please take me back.
For all you gave me
I just wont let you go.

I misplaced my days
In my letter of regrets:
*****Dear, *your name here*
*****I painted his name across my wall
*****And filled the space with stars.
*****I created a sky
*****That would never fade,
*****Or fall to ash after a storm.
*****I cursed myself -
*****I kept on giving, but never took back.
*****For this mistake I warn you:
*****Always keep something witheld
*****Or you'll lose yourself entirely.
*****Nothing will ever be soley yours again.
*****I seal this with a dozen tears,
*****For they'll never wither as roses die.
*****Sincerely Yours, Little Old Me.

Destiny missed my number
When calling us to our fates.
I just sit here on the carousel,
Calling out your name.
Humming our song...
Now distorted in the organ's keys.

If our love is a circus,
Then I'm the dying clown.
You encouraged my pliancy,
And took it to your advantage.
So I want to ask you...
If you did all the wrongs,
Why am I the one punished?
Maybe because I blinded myself.
I forced my eyes to renew
And perform to the fancy of you.
All was adapted.

I don't remember myself without you.
Maybe this is all just a dream.
A warning of how you could destroy my life.
I need you to know,
You have the power to do so.

Not that reality ever phased you,
Or maybe it just comes off that way.

Don't shut your eyes yet, my love.
I have three days sleep left to regain.
All in your honor.

Could I die of my despaire?
Now, at least, I'll know you knew
The perspective through my shattered soul.
The lenses are a pile of debris,
And the world looks so different.
Like bare shelves in a white washed store.
No point.
Bleak pages, in invisible ink.
Nothing matters.

Don't write me of appology.
It doesn't mean a thing.

Prayer cannot raise the dead.
*****Here She Lies.
*****She who wasted away
*****In heartbreak
*****In lamentation
*****In melancholly skins masking her windows.
*****Forever rest a soul for loving.
Here are the plans for my tombstone, love.
I'm sure once I'm gone,
They'll all know what to do.

Would it hurt you to know,
This is all your fault
And there's nothing you can do to stop me? Up until a few days ago I would have thought this poem completely OTT in my detached cynical frame of mind but that has been changed by DreamWeaver and others.
I can now get back to my youth once more and appreciate the trauma you are suffering.
(and the pain I may have brought to some girls)
This is an exceptional write , not only does it portray your emotions but also the distraction they produce comming into your mind from all angles
Best of luck getting it back together, He doesn't sound as though he deserves you
