When I'm asleep

This world is messed up
So I retreat into my dreams
And no they’re never perfect
And yet it’s almost what it feels like

Cuz when my eyes are closed you love me
When I arise you’re so far away
I’ll sleep and we’ll just be kids again
Can I forget that box that they put you in?

My eyes are closed yet this face keeps staring
I’m looking back at me
Why did you put me through this crap?
Why was it so obscene?

I hate that I’m apart of you
To gaze with such despair
Dying to slip into a dream
This life’s a bleak nightmare
