it's like a boot to the gut
polishing fairytales
and fantasy dreams
passing them on to our children
for generations to come

Lost in storylines on movies screens
the latest gossip like a submarine
submerged in the depths
which has no depth at all
so that those in power
don't need wool anymore

Freedom of speech
without freedom of mind
leaves us all standing waiting in line
for the next dramatic scandal
which unfolds before our eyes
we should have seen this coming
but would rather be blind

What a powerful write that wastes no time getting straight to the point. I really enjoyed how direct and deliberate your words were. Your lines boast honesty and a courage to confront what is happening before our very eyes.

"Freedom of speech
without freedom of mind"

A perfect line that sums up the present state. Awesome write

This line blew me away...

submerged in the depths
which has no depth at all
so that those in power
don't need wool anymore

Keep it up!

This is a wonderfully written poem and as much as I want
To comment the words in my head come out wrong
But just the same. I love every thing you do
