The Sting

Contributed by RachelSixx on Sunday, 20th March 2011 @ 07:35:00 PM in AEST
Topic: self-harmpoetry

the sting of the razor
being pulled across your flesh
isn't what hurts
what hurts is the reason why
the reason you're doing it
the reason you picked up the razor
you know it's wrong
you know it doesn't change anything
but you do it anyway
because it feels so good
because it's the one thing
you can control
you control the raxor
how deep it cuts
how far it goes
how much damage it causes
and that's just what you needed
you needed control
and you found it
in the corner of a dark room
with the raxor
your only true friend
the only one that understands
the only one that can help
and now you love it
you love the sting
you love the control
it's what keeps you sane
what makes living bearable
so you don't stop
and you'll never want to
beacause the sting
is just too addictive

This was very dark, very much like what I was
posting when I first started out on the site 6 years
ago. I still struggle every day, but it does get easier
as time goes on:

"Sometimes I feel like letting go, giving up.
I have no hope, but I can still hold on.
Sometimes I cut my problems away and I wake up with my eyes shut.
I'm blind and bleeding, but I can still hold on.
Sometimes it's just no use trying to be something I'm not.
I can never change, but I can still hold on."

Always remember to hold on! Always!

Best wishes,

Kara
