yesterday she looked at the mirror & this is what she saw --
she saw a beautiful girl with such sadness within her
she saw a girl that smiles just to hide the pain
she saw a girl that pretends to be fine when she's really not
she sees nothing but ugliness
she sees a girl that is naive and vulnerable
she saw a girl that loved a horrific monster that never knew how to love
she saw a girl who shuts her eyes from the world just for her to keep thinking what she has now is real, when really, its all a joke
she sees a girl who gives and gives but never wants to take
she sees a loving girl somewhere deep inside but slowly, that girl is saying goodbye
she sees a girl that acts as if nothing can hurt her, when really the smallest things will destroy her
she makes believe that she's perfect even if she knows that she will never be
she saw a girl that loves herself, but when she looked closely, there is nothing but hate
she sees a girl standing right infront of her, her own reflection, but she doesn't know who she is
she places her hand on the mirror
she touches her cheeks and tells herself to not cry anymore
she begs herself to love who she really is
she plans on changing herself but maybe its too late
she knows the only person that's stopping her...is herself
she's angry now and she punches through the glass
she's crying and bleeding everywhere
she's looking at a million faces on the broken glass with each one reflecting the same face
a face she cannot stand
a face she wished she never saw
she takes the mirror into her hands and puts her wrists right under
she's thinking if she ends this right here, right now, tomorrow, she won't have to see this girl again
she cries and cries
she's saying her goodbyes
but as she began to cut herself
she felt as if she wasn't even there
she felt as if she was in another world
she breathes
she closes her eyes
she tells herself she's sorry
and falls right on top of the broken glass
there's nothing now
not even a nightmare or a beautiful dream
nothing
there is nothing
when she opened her eyes again
she cries
she's crying because it's another sad day
but when she gets up to look in the mirror
she didn't see a reflection
she's dead
she always has been [comments] => 0 [counter] => 122 [topic] => 61 [informant] => xbabycyutie [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => selfstruggles )

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
