Is it right, this odd-tinted world, lit
by beacons of odd-tinted
light, that wages a war
letting blind soldiers die?
"This is why dawn is called mourning."

Rights.
Do we write the truth as
we die for our rights;
both of us bleeding indigo:
one black and one white?
"This is why dawn is called mourning."

Rights.
Is it right that our country lets
our brothers and sisters
die, like albino flowers
misplaced in the Arabian sands?
"This is why dawn is called mourning."

Rights.
Is it a man's God-given
right to die because
he sleeps alone and shivers
on the hard dirt floor of the streets?
"This is why dawn is called mourning."

Rights.
Do we right the wrong, or
do we just argue over
who has the right, while glass eyes
break and the saline spills out?
"This is why dawn is called mourning."

Rights.
Is it right that his vision's now
vertically striped and the bracelets
on his wrists require a key all
because he had a hope, had a dream?
"This is why dawn is called mourning." [comments] => 4 [counter] => 192 [topic] => 41 [informant] => allforyou [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 14 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => political )

I can say I am not a fan of politics, but I do like how you express the... I can't even describe this poem and it is a magnificent piece of writing. God bless you.

This poem had a lot of valid points. The poor die, and those with rights are suppressed, while those in power bicker over who has what rights.

That being said, while there is much sadness in the world, there is also much justice, beauty and happiness.
