Array ( [sid] => 165155 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Taking a moment to reflect on love. [time] => 2011-03-07 23:07:09 [hometext] => On this day, rather than another, we place our selves together. We share word and thought, and assure ourselves it's not for naught. [bodytext] => Today is a day, by any other means
According to the calendar on the phone
Resting in the pocket of my jeans.
On today I do something,
I would do on any other,
But I take it one step further.

I think about the one person,
The singular point deep within the sea.
I stop and think about them,
And what it is they mean to me.
Yes she and you, are one in the same.
I put your features in union with your name.

I consider your fragile smile,
How it comes so soon,
Shines so brightly, so sweetly,
And I fear I may come to break it.

I take note of your eyes,
And how they look at me,
Like stain-glassed circular dolls
Who only have one phrase
Upon the pulling of their string:
"Pick Me! Pick me!"

I think about how every moment
Spent with you is "satisfaction guaranteed",
Which is a marketing slogan for:
"Likely to be taken for granted".

I reflect upon how we embrace,
And how it changes from
A person in my arms,
To a new extension of myself.

I realize now that these are just some of many,
Thoughts that pop into my head so frequently.
Now to finish the list off at the end of this night,
I raise my hand to your face,
Slowly brush your bangs to the side,
And the gap between our lips,
Quietly meet and hide. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 176 [topic] => 2 [informant] => xHeathenx [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )

Reflecting and memory is what keeps love alive. Always treasure your memories, because without them, your love wouldn't exist.
