In the dream space of my mind
As the clock never starts ticking
So I lose track of the time

And the moments when I find it
Are the ones I start to sink
As I slip beneath this quicksand
And I fall beneath the brink

I surpass their so-called impossible
The absurd becomes more plausible
And you finally said you loved me
As I heard my favorite song

Your arms are always open
And your eyes say what’s unspoken
And in that small unconscious moment
I know this is where I belong

But there will come a time
And my reality awakens
And it only serves to steal away
The joy you left behind

And in this world you curse me
The words that continually burn
The pain that leaves behind scars
For tears cannot extinguish flames

I’m the dream you’re afraid of living
I’m the one you think’s insane
Why dream of loving someone?
When you can live to know your pain [comments] => 5 [counter] => 239 [topic] => 14 [informant] => scottstone [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DreamsandWishes )

Very good write... left me with mixed emotions, but the meaning was solid... And the ending really made the poem, deep and powerful, even dark.

Farewell,
Alice

Sad but true. Well done, nicely expressed.
