You hold the depth of the radiance
as the graceful amenity of the stars
demands immersion
The velvet rolls through pools
of twinkling light
like a million tiny flickers of fire
and the world heaves with gentle infatuation
There is a calm that sweeps the Earth
which daytime blue is unacquainted with
Contentment lies in how you charm the soul
with your antiquated glitter
and command the moon, your goddess,
to bewitch hearts in their delicate slumber
inviting dreams to caress the allure of your visage

There is nothing more beguiling
than that of the night time sky,
where emotion can enslave
with the quiet illusion
of serenity ...

You really really know how to write about the night sky. I remember reading about the night sky in another poem of yours (maybe two years ago?) and I can't even remember the words or anything else about it anymore except for the image it invoked in me ol' mind. That image came again to me tonight.

I love the way you paint with words.

Smile!

Beautifully serene. I can read it several times and still want to hear more. The poem has the effect of a lulluby.

I've always enjoyed the night more than day. Except for days with clouds the sunny sky always feels to empty. The night is wonderful and cool and full of stars. You have invoked the essence of this which is no small feat. I will be sure to step out tonight and enjoy some of that serenity only the night can bring. Great writing as always. truly , Doug

Your poetic lines could light up the night sky! This is radiant. You always paint such robust imagery.

Love this line:

and the world heaves with gentle infatuation

Oh yeah. That's the stuff!!
