but I keep my breathing calm, not to cause any commotion
Upon my face a caring smile, my atmosphere welcoming
I block out all un-needed emotion.
I soothe and mumble and mutter soft words
And keep my voice steady and at ease
To inflame the situation is the worst path possible
I’ve to be as cool as a summers day breeze.
I will give those endearing sweet eyes
I will hug, hold, calm, be like a steady horse on cart
I’ll do my upmost best at anything
Just to keep me from falling apart.
And after the distraught is over
I don’t let out nor do I relieve
I keep myself busy, my hands, mind, soul
Just to hold back from feeling that pierce.
Scattering objects about the room
Organizing, doing things, some sort of structure
To keep my brain focussed on other things
Than the thing that will make me rupture
And when everything is back to our average ways
And everyone is as calm as I once appeared
I will sit down myself, quietly.. de-stress
And let out every one of my kept in tears.

Interesting write, in a style I very much enjoyed, you can feel the tension throughout. With a good finish.

Interesting... I have never had control issues, and I didn't know they could make you feel like this. I'm sure it's a combination of things, but still, that seems difficult. Great poem.
