Lets have a baby you said
I'll love you forever you said
I'll help all the time.. You said
But where were you the first time he was ill?
Where were you the first night he screamed?
Where were you every sleepless night?

NOT there that’s for sure,
Where were you when I just had him?
Where were you when I needed help to just pick him up?
NOT THERE!

You said you'd always help
You told me to go back to college
You told me you'd be there
Where were you?
NOT THERE

More false promises
Too many lies
You are the FATHER of MY child?
WHY?
Why not a banker?
Why not a carer?
Why not a honest man
But no I got you
The bane of my life

You’re always late
You’re never honest
You have no respect
You don’t even care
Your reading this right now and you don’t even care
Because that’s you with your broken heart, you loss of ambition
Your I cant be arsed attitude
You could've been great
You could've been big
You could've been successful
But you threw it all away

Where were you when I needed you?
Where were you when he cried?
Where are you every night its too hard and I'm too tired
NOT THERE!!!

I see your face in my son I see your expressions,
All’s you do is yell now
Not turn up
You give me no money
And then have the nerve to tell me your poor when I’m the one with the babe.
OUR babe. OUR son
NO more.
No more
YOU WERENT THERE.

This poem is very moving. You express your angst beautifully. I am sorry you had to go through this, but I bet you're a great mom. Your son is lucky to have you! Great poem!
