reaching the palm of my hands.
sweaty dollar bills crunched up
in my fist. Sirens and lonely
coffee shops, Im walking down
busy streets wearing my evenings
best. All my friends are here their
back in my life pushing me to be
only myself. Boardwalks and rides
are where we are heading to, nothing
stops us now because we own tonight.
We laugh we live and we make it through
the crowds. I look behind me and suddenly
Im alone, lost and only surrounded by the
complete unknown to me. I thought we
were sticking together but someone lost
grip of me and now I am searching through
this shady bar for all but a sign of the people
who came all this way in life with me. I found
one friends hair clip not far from the dance floor.
There it stood in the florescent light, if only it
could speak to me and tell me how it got there.
Like a lost child I search for pay phones and
just want my parents to come rescue me from
the obscene things I am seeing in this dark
night club. I make my way out to find the whole
boardwalk unlit and vacant. I don't know which
sea side Im at and my heels get caught in the
wood. I smell my friends perfume and hear
their laughs but only from a distance like
an echo in a far away place. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 287 [topic] => 16 [informant] => DanielleMarie [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => FriendshipPoetry )

This poem is very deep and meaningful, very well set out too, has a beautiful look to it.
I love the line..
