Beaten down, useless; I've been there before
When life get so hard and you can't even stand
The world gives you the middle finger; isn't it grand
When you turn to the person, standin' next to you
They're so perfect, and you're sick of bein' two
Outta ten; everything you do just goes wrong
You fail, you slip, you feel anything but strong
You get knocked down again and try to get back up
But in the end, my friend, all you've got's an empty cup
Your heart hurts; you're sick of cryin' your eyes out
You never really understood what life is all about
They say it's okay, you tell 'em to screw off; no
They don't see what you're goin' through, so
You scream at the sky, you weep for the stars
They're so afraid of you; they watch from afar
I guess it's not really worth it; I guess they were right
So don't be surprised when I put a gun to my temple tonight. eminem elicites a dour bleak perspective of a trapped human voice in a desolate concrete jungle of suburban Detroit ,Michigan ,specifically ring road Eight (where I have personally traversed many many times)mood and temperment relating to his unemployed dirt poor existence and his extremist tendancies of rappinand launching into a verbal tirade towards the afformentioned spiralling propulsion into the tormented abyss of his own depression and ultimate suicide?...a cowards way out...doncha think?...true heros of that ilk get gunned down by unknown assassins of the dark invading mind controllers...the thought police? egads!gadzook!
